Attention! The original bushing has a diametrical displacement between the metal components. The bushing is directed toward the mount of the bracket by smaller size offset. The location of bushing in the bracket is significant for the proper operation of the suspension. The worn out parts has not clearly offset, so you should mark the bushing to indicate the correct placement of the bushings in the bracket.
Dismantling
- Choose the driving hub and the base hub for the dismantling and installing of the bushings. The outer diameter of the driving hub must be 0.5 mm. less than the outer diameter of the outer shell (Fig. 1) to prevent damage to the bearing, and deformation of the bracket. The diameter of the base hub must be 1-2 mm. greater than the outer diameter of the outer shell (Fig. 1), not interfering the bushing removal. Drawings of driving hubs and base hubs for specific parts can be found on the website www crt.ru.
- Place the bracket in the press, on the base hub.
- Place the driving hub on the bushing.
- Start the pressing out. Increase the load gradually to avoid skewness, deformation of the hubs and bearing in the bracket.
- After dismantling inspect and clean the bearing in the bracket from rust, dirt and burrs.
Installation
- Compare the diameter of the bearing and the outer diameter of the outer shell of the new bushing. The outer diameter of the outer metal shell must be 0.2 to 0.5 mm. greater than the diameter of the bearing. The difference diameters provides proper fixation of the bushings in the bearing, as a result of plastic deformation of the outer shell. If there’s not a necessary difference in diameters, check the correctness of the choice of bushing, or replace the bracket.
- Place the bracket on the base hub.
- Place the new bushing on the bearing of the arm and align the marks. The bushing should be directed toward the mount of the bracket by smaller size offset.
- Place the driver hub on the bushing.
- Start the pressing in. Increase the load gradually to avoid skewness, deformation of the hubs and bushing.
- After the installation check the correctness of the bushing’s position in the bracket.
Attention! The tightening of the fixing bolts must be performed on the loaded suspension, when car stands on wheels on the plain surface. Tightening force is according to the manufacturer’s recommendations.
Attention! After the replacement of the bushings it is necessary to perform the wheels alignment.
